One advisor. Many carriers. A plan that fits your life.

Most people do not need every product. They need the right few, in the right order. As an independent broker I compare plans from several insurance and investment companies, so the advice starts with your situation, not a company’s product shelf.

Every service below has its own page with examples, comparisons and answers to common questions. If you would rather talk it through, my calls are always free and there is no pressure to buy.

For the people who depend on you

Protect my family

If you stopped earning tomorrow, who would pay the mortgage, the school fees and the everyday bills? Life, critical illness and disability insurance exist to answer that question before it becomes a crisis.

The right mix depends on your age, health, income and debts. We start with what your family would actually need, then find the most affordable way to cover it.

  • Parents and couples with a mortgage
  • Self employed people with no workplace benefits
  • Anyone who wants to leave a legacy or cover final expenses

Health and benefits

Provincial plans cover a lot, but not prescriptions, dental, vision, physiotherapy or private rooms. A health plan fills those gaps so a routine bill does not become a financial worry.

For business owners, a group benefits plan is also one of the best ways to attract and keep good people, and the premiums are usually a business expense.

  • Families without employer benefits
  • Self employed professionals
  • Small businesses with two or more employees

Newcomers and travel

Arriving in Canada comes with a lot of paperwork. Health coverage is one of the first things to sort out, because provincial plans often have a waiting period and a medical emergency in that gap can be very expensive.

I have been through the newcomer journey myself, so I explain what is required, what is optional and what can wait.

  • New immigrants and work permit holders
  • Families hosting parents or grandparents
  • International students and frequent travellers

Save and invest

Where you save matters as much as how much you save. Registered accounts can lower your tax, let growth compound tax free and unlock government grants, but each has its own rules and limits.

We map the accounts to your goals, such as retirement, a first home, a child’s education or long term care, then choose investments that match your comfort with risk.

  • Anyone building a retirement plan
  • Parents saving for education
  • First time home buyers and families of people with disabilities

Frequently asked questions

What financial services do you offer?

I help with life insurance (term, whole, universal and simplified issue), critical illness, disability, cancer and accident cover, health and group benefits, travel, Super Visa, visitor and international student insurance, plus registered savings and investment plans such as TFSA, RRSP, RESP, FHSA, RDSP and segregated funds. Business owners can also arrange key person cover, buy-sell funding and group benefits.

Do I pay you to work with you?

No. Conversations are always free. As an independent broker I am paid by the insurance or investment company when you choose a plan, so you do not pay a separate fee for the advice or for comparing options.

What does it mean that you are an independent broker?

I am not tied to one insurance company. I can compare plans from several carriers, and recommend the one that fits your health, budget and goals rather than the one I am required to sell.

How much life insurance do I need?

A common starting point is to add up your debts (mortgage, car, loans), the income your family would need to replace for a number of years, future costs such as education, and final expenses, then subtract savings and any cover you already have. In our call we work through your actual numbers together so you do not over or under insure.

What is the difference between term, whole and universal life insurance?

Term life covers you for a fixed period (such as 10, 20, 30 or 40 years) and is usually the most affordable. Whole life covers you for your entire life with guaranteed premiums and a cash value that builds. Universal life is permanent cover with more flexibility and an investment component. Each has its own page on this site with a side by side comparison.

Can I get life insurance without a medical exam?

Often yes. Non-medical, or simplified issue, plans use health questions instead of a full exam, so approval can be faster. They usually cost more than fully underwritten plans, so we first check whether a standard application would get you a better rate.

Why do I need critical illness or disability insurance if I have life insurance?

Life insurance pays when you pass away. Critical illness pays a lump sum if you are diagnosed with a covered condition, and disability insurance replaces part of your income if you cannot work. They protect you and your family while you are alive and still have bills to pay.

I just moved to Canada. What insurance should I look at first?

Provincial health coverage can have a waiting period, so most newcomers start with a short term visitor or new immigrant health plan. After that, we look at life and critical illness cover for the family, then registered accounts such as TFSA, RRSP, RESP and FHSA. My start here page walks through the order.

What do I need for Super Visa insurance?

The Super Visa requires private medical insurance from a Canadian insurer with at least $100,000 of emergency coverage, valid for at least one year, and proof of it when applying. I compare several carriers and also explain pre-existing condition rules and refund terms on visa refusal before you buy.

What is the difference between a TFSA and an RRSP?

An RRSP gives you a tax deduction now and your withdrawals are taxed later, which suits people in higher tax years saving for retirement. A TFSA gives no deduction but growth and withdrawals are tax free, which suits flexible goals. Many people use both, and the right split depends on your income and plans.

How do RESP, FHSA and RDSP work?

An RESP saves for a child’s education and can attract government grants. An FHSA helps first time buyers save for a home with a tax deduction on contributions. An RDSP is for people eligible for the Disability Tax Credit and can attract government grants and bonds. Each has limits and rules, so check the guide pages and book a call to see what fits.

Are the investment products guaranteed?

It depends on the product. Segregated funds, for example, can include maturity and death benefit guarantees, while other investments can rise or fall in value. I explain the risks and any guarantees in plain language before you decide, and you always receive the full policy or fund documents.

Do you work with clients outside Saskatoon?

Yes. MS Insurance Inc. is licensed in Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Manitoba, Ontario and Prince Edward Island, and most meetings happen by phone or video, so you can work with me from anywhere in those provinces.

How long does it take to get covered?

Simple plans such as travel, visitor and some non-medical life policies can be arranged within days. Fully underwritten life, critical illness and disability plans usually take a few weeks because the insurer reviews your application and may ask for medical information.

What happens when I need to make a claim?

Call or message me and I will help you gather the forms and submit them to the insurer. I stay involved so you are not left to deal with the paperwork alone, and I review your cover at least once a year as your life changes.

Is my personal information safe?

Yes. I only collect the details needed to quote or apply, share them only with the carriers involved, and never sell your information. Details are in the privacy policy.

Not sure where to start?

Book a free call and we will work out the right first step together. No jargon, no pressure.
