Health coverage for international students depends on the province, your school and the length of your study permit. Some students are covered by a provincial plan after a waiting period, some by a school plan, and some need private insurance. I help you find and bridge the gaps without paying for cover you do not need.

Frequently asked questions
Do international students get provincial health coverage?
It depends on the province and the length of your permit. Some provinces cover students, sometimes after a waiting period, while others do not. I will check the rules for where you study.
My school has a plan. Do I still need insurance?
Many schools have a mandatory plan. You may be able to opt out if you have comparable private coverage, but deadlines apply. Check your school’s rules first.
What does student insurance cover?
Typically emergency and hospital care, doctor visits and prescriptions. Some plans add dental, vision, mental health and repatriation.
Is there a waiting period?
Some provinces have one. A private plan can cover you until provincial coverage starts.
Can my spouse or children be covered?
Family options exist. Tell me who is coming with you and I will quote it.
What happens after I graduate?
You may need new coverage, for example while on a post-graduation work permit. I can plan the transition with you.
How much does it cost?
It depends on your age, province, coverage level and deductible. Ask for a free quote.
